The last image I will be sharing is another from one of my coastal walks around the farm, this is across the new bridge which they have add by the bird watching spot.

“Birds roost on the rocks and on the small shelly beaches, and gather food from the mud flats at low tide. Keen bird watchers have identified more than 86 species of birds at Ambury.”

This is a little video I captured the other day on one of my walks around my local water front. I find it so calming and peaceful listening to the waves crash on to the rocks, it’s something I could spend hours doing

This is a little hidden away spot which my brother and I recently discovered on one of our explores around our area.

It’s such an epic place, I love all the different textures and shades in this photo, seems so calm and peaceful.

This photo was captured when I went to visit my cousin’s winery (karangahake gorge winery) it is truly such a stunning place and a favourite of mine to visit,
It has an amazing breathtaking walk over the river.

I like the way the fog is seen covering the mountains and background of the landscape giving the photo a mysterious feel.

Hi everyone,

I like to spend my evenings wandering my local area to clear my head and discover the beauty of the natural landscape. I especially like to explore around the coastal walk at Ambury farm in Mangere Bridge.

“A relatively easy walking track along the coast of the Manukau Harbour in picturesque Ambury Regional Park. The coast is a significant habitat for shorebirds and has examples of basalt lava flows.”

Last but not least in our run of takeovers is Kerryn.

Hi my name is Kerryn Hickson, I’m in my third year at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design.

My Art practice is based on nature and observing it in a creative way. I like to think about and question the way we view things.
Another interest of mine within photography is Motor Racing.

This is the first time I have taken part in the collaboration and I’m excited to share my work!

‘Suburban Amusement park’ pt.1 ••• The car wash. Yet another example of water as an immersive medium. ••• I think many of us can vouch that when we were a child, there was nothing as exciting as driving through a car wash. Jet streams of water splashed and smeared across the windows. Colourful blobs of soap, flashing lights, and twisting brushes. This series brings back a strong sense of nostalgia.

POV: Seconds converted to minutes, minuets converted to hours. Losing all sense of time without a moments realisation. ••• ~ Do colors have psychological effects on us? It is largely determined on how the psychological effects of color are being implemented. In art therapy, colour is often associated with a person's emotions and/or feelings. Therefore, I have found it valuable to understand the psychological effects colours may have on an average person as well as the fundamentals of colour theory. ••• The gradual shift in colour of the turbulent water creates for an engrossing visual experience which is best captured through moving image.

“Hypnotic waters” • {Sound on} • Water sounds when deep in thought can aid relaxation and peace for many. It is a sort of self-hypnotherapy to be engrossed in a medium that the world around you freezes in time. • More work to come surrounding this notion.

This is a series of ‘establishing’ imagery that has formed my leading exploration of water as an immersive medium. This work speaks to the way water holds oxygen, through the strong sense of light passing through the water as it surges. The depth and rich tones in the colour palette heighten this. ••• Moving image to these stills can be viewed in the following post.

Next up we stay in Aotearoa for the next take over.

Hi everyone,

Paige Hunt here from the Whitecliffe Photo Media Yr 3 Cohort.

My personal practice situates itself in both the Fashion and Fine Art world, celebrating colour and light. I’d like to say my free-spirit is seen through my enjoyment of immersing myself in nature and prioritising sustainability across lens-based media.

I am enthused to be sharing works and research over the coming days that speak to my relationship with water.

Stay tuned.
