164.94 million miles, or 54.6 million kilometers. That number represents the farthest a BASF product has traveled so far. 

We are proud to have supported NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover successful touch down back on February 18 of this year. Our cathode active materials, produced at our BASF Toda Battery Materials (BTBM) plant in Kitakyushu, Japan, is being used in the rechargeable batteries built within the Mars rover battery system. What an amazing accomplishment to be a part of this historic moment. Many thanks to our colleagues for making this a true success.
