All of the tassels on my graduation card designs are handmade by me, using embroidery floss. In 8 easy steps, you too can make little graduation tassels - page through the next 2 4-frame collages to see how I do it! 1. My place setting. For this tassel I will use red & white floss. 2. Cut an equal length of red and white floss. I cut about 2 feet of each. 3 & 4. Take the floss and wrap it around spread out fingers on your hand. Depending on how much you spread your fingers will determine the length of the tassel. 5. Once you have a continuous tassel loop, cut a separate small strand of floss and tie it to the loop. This will ensure that the floss that you just looped does not come apart and will be the top of your tassel. Also, you will cut the loop open, at the end opposite of the tie to release the tassel fringe. 6. This is the trickiest part of tassel making. Cut another separate piece of floss, about 1 foot long. Lay your tassel on a table and take this new strand and arrange it in a horseshoe shape. Take one “arm” of the horseshoe, and wrap it around the top of the tassel continuously until you feel that it is thick enough. This will be the “neck” of the tassel. 7 & 8. Lastly, you will need to find a way to adhere the neck of the tassel (that you just created) to the tassel body so it doesn’t fall off. Take the strand arm that you DID NOT use to create the tassel neck, and string it through the loop, created when you created the horseshoe strand formation (step 6). Pull through, and the neck is knotted and adhered to the tassel. Trim tassel to desired length and trim off any excess floss!

Scenes from the newest Graduation Explosion box for a new customer. Based on the rush of orders placed over the past week - it’s safe to say that my stylish Graduation cards are both in demand and a hit! The best part of card making is being able to indirectly play a part in making someone’s day extra special. The card buyer was surprising this recipient (from Mississippi) with a trip to California - and the surprise’s text was included in the centerpiece box in the card. How cool is that?
🚨UPDATE: Price Adjustment 🚨 One year ago, I launched the “Explosion Box” in my shop thinking that this little keepsake would be a great addition to my shop. Given how personalized it can be, I was excited at the prospect for my customer base to make this item their own - but was also concerned that a paralysis of choice and indecision would prevent people from ordering this item. Fast forward 1 year and this box has easily been the best selling item. I have created boxes spanning birthdays, weddings, thinking of you’s, birth announcements, and more. As a result, I launched the “Graduation Explosion Box” 2 weeks ago to provide people with a standardized design option for this occasion - and have received orders for 10 of these boxes since 😅 I work full-time and spend many of my weeknights fulfilling card orders. The standard explosion box takes me approximately 4-5 hours to complete; therefore, as of today the explosion box price has increased to $25 (previously $20) Note: •If you placed your order before today, boxes will be honored at the $20/box rate. Moving forward, boxes will reflect this new price adjustment. •The $25 price point still remains competitive compared to other listings on Etsy, especially considering the personalization choice and detail I provide. •I do not envision changing the price of my listings any further this year! Thank you all for your continued support. Need a card for a special occasion? Shop my Etsy (link in bio) or DM me today!
