Friday feelings : this week was a bit draining but also rewarding. I truly am happy to give my time and advice for all those closest to me. So many have been there for me for my times in need to it’s so rewarding for me to do the same and offer a listening ear or words of advice. . The downside is I allow others peoples problems to consume me sometimes. I am constantly thinking of how I can solve their problems or how else can I assist. I also try to reach out to people who I think may be struggling in some ways, somehow it’s something I believe I must do, and I tend to over extend which makes it draining, I need to learn to control that and just get the joy out of helping instead of always trying to solve jt .. that’s a me thing. Work to be done on myself. . That is probably why I even started these blogs, to connect and help in small ways whether it be in haircare, divorce, mom life, or just struggles as women and share the knowledge I learnt through my own mistakes in life. Also it was a place to become accountable for my self care, self growth and to store my best memories and share with those who can relate to me and my stories and family and self care being a mom. . I hope you all take the time to show the ones you love the time, the love and respect they show you. I want to say thank you to my friends, family and you awesome followers who have become my friends for all the support and love that you show me and know that I’m here during these times to talk. . Love you guys
Happy Thursday . "I need to see my own beauty and to continue to be reminded that I am enough, that I am worthy of love without effort, that I am beautiful, that the texture of my hair and that the shape of my curves, the size of my lips, the color of my skin, and the feelings that I have are all worthy and okay." - @traceeellisross . @hairpaintwax gold white and pink
My results on day 2 of using my @myafricanpride moisture miracle coconut and baobab oil hydrate and strengthen Leave in Cream followed by the Shea butter and flaxseed oil Moisture and define Curling cream. . This cream smelt great left my hair soft and defined, not as defined as a gel or as strong a hold but did the job and it was the shine for me ! Would you guys give it a try ?
It’s 2021 the end of January. So far I kept my promise to take care of myself more than I have in the past both mentally and physically. I feel stronger than I have in a while. It’s all about trying to stay consistent. . Being a mom sometimes we put everyone’s needs above our own, but as they say on a flight always put your oxygen mask on first before trying to help anyone else. . Even if you feel like crap, your mind has more power than you know push through and know you have one life and one body treat it well and love yourself. . And no matter where you are . Even sitting on the toilet, remember to keep it classy like me lol 😂 . Ps that’s peardrax I don’t drink alcohol 🍷
There are certain moments while experiencing them you know will become memories. Certain moments you feel a certain joy, moments you want to hold onto forever, no matter how simple they may be. . This was one of them my dad and granny sitting in the backyard with the dogs watching sage do tricks on the trampoline, my grandmother smiling and my dad being his usual miserable self teasing and laughing with us. . In these moments life is truly priceless. It’s where we find our joy ❤️☺️
Love your child and lead by example ☺️❤️🙏
Throwback to when I did my own twists added some hair jewelry and a head wrap .. feelin my boho chic shelf lol 😂
Good hair days always lift your spirits ☺️🙏 . Day 2 hair with @curlsmith_official hair make up in copper! Going strong still loving the definition and saturation of colour. Of course a little frizziness is expected with this humidity .. but overall great results
So I feel like this colour should be permanent .. but the way my hair is made up ... not sure copper/blonde would be the best for my hair health and length goals. So temporary hair colour works best for me right now! . And what product did I use to achieve This awesome colour ? @curlsmith_official hair makeup in the colour copper ! It’s a styling gel and temporary colour in one ! . The hold is great and the colour vibrant and a little rub off on clothes and skin but like all these temporary colours are easily washed off with water. . Copper for the next few days ! Im going to enjoy it ❤️
Hiking Saturdays ! Here is to sticking to it guys ! It was a wonderful hiking day with friends and family ❤️☺️🙏
“Sometimes us parents struggle to find what works. When yelling doesn’t work anymore, we creat fun games to get kids to do what we need them to do without always having to be the bad guy ! This one is working splendidly ! “ Sincerely Miss Brittany Bosslady of Bridgerton
Just posting because it’s Friday and I love my son ❤️
Love appreciating and honouring all the cultures and religions and races that make up the woman that I am, the woman I have become and the woman I will be. . Happy Friday . Head wrap from @pennywisett
Did I always love the texture of my hair? NO! . Ask me now! I love my hair in all its forms curly tendrils, a little frizz or a giant afro! It is what god blessed me with so it must be great! He doesn't make mistakes! My beauty within shines when I feel confident ❤️💯
Texture on a Wednesday! . Being mixed of course my hair has many different textures sometimes products work well for one part of my hair and other times it doesn't. . Mixed hair problems lol Found this online and it's exactly how I handle this issue and they use a product I got from my @hubfornaturalhair which I am also very pleased with. It was the curly cream from @taliahwaajidbrand . For Amplifying Curls... If you want to play up the parts of your hair with tighter, more spiral-y curls, you’ll want a curl definer. Choose one that specifically notes your curl pattern on the label. Apply it on wet hair, and for the areas that are less curly, enhance each curl by twisting small pieces around your finger then scrunching. There are a lot of multi-step curl “program” products, but I find a curl definer to be the most important one. My favorite is a natural, inexpensive curl definer by Taliah Waajid. To keep your curls bouncy for days, add a drop of gel to the curl definer before working it in. Then, air dry or use a diffuser on low. Either way, avoid touching your curls until they're completely dry. . Source : Byrdie
Trying to make Hiking Saturdays a thing for 2021. . It’s a time to unwind, get out of the house, reconnect with nature, reconnect with family and friends and get healthier and stronger in more ways than one. ❤️
Day 3 hair : just refreshed with some water and leave in and hand curled the frizzies. . @qhemetbiologics cocoa tree detangling ghee and @discovertreluxe curl enhancer styling gel! Is really holding up even with some sweating during work out time and some humidity being outdoors. . Really loving this combo . Thanks @blessednelly
Yessss loving my results with my @qhemetbiologics coco tree detangling ghee and @discovertreluxe hi definition curl enhancer styling gel. This is day two! . Day one I did super late so just had to tie it up to sleep but the gel did leave a bit of cast but it really was hi definition! Like whoa!
The Vitamins To Take For Stronger Curls Vitamin E and A: Even hair needs antioxidants! Free radicals attack healthy curls too, so combat them by adding these vitamins to your routine. Pick up a supplement or incorporate foods rich in these vitamins into your diet. Vitamin B Complex: Not only is this vitamin amazing for your overall health, it will definitely help the health of your hair. Benefits of this vitamin include an increased metabolism and lower stress levels. Since hair growth can be negatively impacted by stress, this vitamin can help manage your stress levels. Fiber: Not only is this great for your digestion and overall gut health, it is good for helping grow and maintain strong hair. Overall health and well being will allow your body to have the energy to continue producing healthy strands. Flax Seed Oil: This oil has been shown to decrease risk of deadly diseases in your body, and it also works fabulously in your curls! When selecting which oil, make sure you research to pick a reputable, and high quality brand. This will ensure your oil will be the most effective. Folic Acid: When you're searching for a multivitamin, make sure to pick up one containing folic acid. This vitamin is a powerhouse when it comes to helping grow and maintain healthy curls. A lot of moms who take prenatal vitamins (which also has this vitamin) notice an increase in curl and nail growth. . Information sourced from curlyhair.com
Feeling cute with my results using my @hubfornaturalhair products a second time 💯😆👏 . @myafricanpride leave in conditioner @taliahwaajidbrand curly curl cream. Creamy hair lotion Fluffed with my afro comb . Still have to try the @passion4braidz edge control I got in this box... Results to come ❤️❤️
So, one of my best friends and Sages god father @michaelmondezie what can I say but thank you. . Parents need a village to help raise kids and support each other. This guy right here, has been such an emotional support for me and Sage during my divorce, helping through my coparenting struggles and just being a good friend. . Anyone who is going through a divorce or having Coparenting struggles try to get just one friend or team up with people who have been through similar struggles and can guide or support you during this time. Also, if you yourself have been through it, try to be that for someone else. . It has made all the difference in my healing and growth to have a few people in my life like him who have helped me grow, learn and heal to become my best self and move forward with the blended family we have now created.
When you wanna try the #bussitchallenge to show off your awesome hair results from @hubfornaturalhair subscription box, but then you remember you are 38 and your knees not the best lol and sore from a hike the same day lol 😂 . So @hubfornaturalhair has never disappointed me in the last 3 months, it has delivered to my doorstep with a smile, it has delivered quality full sized products with amazing extras! . This month was no different. I used this months products and after seeing the results @chantsnov got I was anxious to try. I used the @myafricanpride leave in cream (recommended by @samara.maloney ) and followed up with the @taliahwaajidbrand curly curl cream creamy hair lotion. My curls were touch-ably soft, smelt great and gave great volume. All products I received in this hub box I would use again in my routine. I highly recommend investing in getting this box monthly as us curly girls spend a bit on hair care and this is a one stop shop and delivered to your house, So, if you are busy or trying to stay safe during a pandemic and trying minimize the places you go. This is for you ! . Thank you @hubfornaturalhair and @chantsnov ❤️🙏
It was amazing to do the hike today with one of my besties @leighrudder and her son. Sage enjoyed having his friend around and so did I. Covid has made it difficult to stay in contact sometimes with the people you hold most dear. So it was amazing to have her with me today and our kids. Also my other bestie @michaelmondezie but that’s another post. Along with chris family this was truly and amazing day.... I know hair video coming soon .. lol 😂

Jumping and playing in the rain always reminds me of my childhood, simpler times, no electronics and just enjoying the spontaneous moments when my dad would just look and me and when the rain began to fall really hard and we would strip down and change our clothes as quickly as possible not to miss it. . To find the corners of the house where the rain trickled like a shower and laughing with my dad are always one of my best memories. . I hope SAge will look back and have similar memories with me one day🙏❤️
Feelin myself today because I finally received my winnings from @blessednelly and it didn’t disappoint!!! all these wonderful goodies from @valrosalimited Featuring products from : @curlsmith_official @discovertreluxe @qhemetbiologics @curltheorysalon . My daydreams always involve me being near the water . Missing the ocean right now ☺️😭
Loving this hike life right now! Feeling so accomplished burning some calories and bonding with family! What a wonderful way to start 2021!
Ready for whatever 2021 throws my way ! . Inspired by the end of one my fav shows @historyvikings . This hair-do made me feel powerful today ! Two braids on each side, one twist on each side and bump on top and adorned with hair jewelry from @superpharmtt and string for an extra touch. . I used @auntjackiescurlsandcoils edge control to lay those edges and keep the braids neat but with that messy just came out for battle look! . @auntjackiescurlsandcoils curl la la on my curls and finger coiled. #vikings
I feel like the last few weeks of 2020 was the most exciting and reconnecting for us. We spent time with my family and Chris’ family and kept our circle small to try to keep things safe while still enjoying Christmas and wedding activities. . I can truly say 2020 was one of the worst and best years of my life. I married my best friend, gained a new family, bonded with Sage in a way I could have never done. I lost 14 lbs and still trying to improve my health and wellness, I had some ups and downs, but we all became closer and stronger during this difficult time. . Thank you to all of my followers for your love and support it meant the world to me. Thanks to my friends and family for being there to support us with anything we needed for our wedding and with Sage. . Wishing you all a Safe, healthy, productive New year !
Yes I’m a girl who didn’t always love my hair and now have learnt to embrace and love my curls and all their tendrils and kinks. . But I also grew up not being confident about my large chest, not being able to wear the clothes I wanted to, not being as confident playing sports because of the way they bounced. I was insecure about men not watching my face and simply only watching my chest. . Until I grew older and realized we were all blessed with beautiful bodies and I had to learn to be confident with what I was blessed with. It’s with time and maturity I learnt to embrace my rolls, my boobs, my stretch marks, my thick thighs, my tummy bulge, my medium bum, my imperfect perfectness. . I’ve learnt to embrace my sexy, While on my journey to self improvement, both spiritually, mentally and physically.
So .. you guys gonna be getting these pics for a while lol 😂 . I felt like the princess I always wanted to be from my childhood all the glitz and glam truly appealed to my girlie side. . Felt like a different person without my curls and some people didn’t even recognise me lol 😂. Women are truly chameleons ☺️ My hair piece was purchased at @pennywisett I couldn’t find a ponytail so I bought a synthetic weave pack and just wrapped the hair and pinned it onto my bun. . My outfit and jewelry was bought at the Indian expo Make up done by me ( I was super proud of myself ) I’m even getting better at putting on eyelashes for those of you following me a while knows this was a task for me just last year lol ( lashes bought at @superpharmtt ) Henna done by @mehndi_by_cassie.j . I think I even felt more glam at this wedding than I did for my own. I think I need to just wear this around the house now lol 😂
... and we felt like Royalty! . This photo makes me smile so much I truly enjoyed this experience, my first Hindu wedding it was so detailed and beautiful. Everyone looked so beautiful and we were able to celebrate in the time of covid. . I was so in love with how both of my boys looked yesterday and how it felt to be there with loved ones ❤️ truly grateful 🙏
Going to my first Hindu wedding ! I really love how I feel 😍 . Congrats @varun_bhageraty and @kimmy_suggie Henna done by @mehndi_by_cassie.j
The past gave me experience and made me wiser so that I can create a beautiful and brighter future. . To learning living and growing 🙏❤️ . Photography @yaisatangwell
Merry Christmas Everyone! . I wanted to share a mix of photos with you guys today ! . Our day was spent in the morning with my grandmother where we had breakfast, then off to st james by Chris’ family for lunch, then back to Chris’ family home for my brother in law wedding prayers and lastly we end the day by my mom ( the tree pic). . I always say how I love our mix of cultures and religions in my family, I am Anglican, Chris is Catholic and Chris’ dad is Hindu. Chris’ brothers up coming Hindu wedding is in a couple days. The preparation for the wedding happened to coincide with Christmas Day so we got to honour all sides of the family. Chris and I had to rub the bride and groom after their prayers with Saffron and coconut oil it was so much fun and laughter. . Lastly I sprinkled in our annual Christmas tree pics for the last few years ❤️🙏 . Grateful and wishing you all love, light and blessings 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Im so EPIC lol I know I can face any challenge, once I put my mind to it, I love @officialslystallone and @prideofgypsies because they tackle amazing physical feats and are so strong mentally and physically, I admire that. . I wanted to end the year that is covid feeling strong, it was a difficult year for so many including myself but I chose to make it different, started freelancing again, lost 14lbs, got married and so many more mini accomplishments. I refused to make this year not a memorable one in a good way. . My cousin in law offered for us to come with him on this hike and it was way harder than I thought, but, just like anything in life, I don’t look at how long you have to go or how hard it will be but just take it in baby steps, I took breaks and eventually I reached the top, I was breathing heavily but never would I let myself quit. . We should all tackle hard times like this, it’s a lesson to take into 2021 to never give up and always take time to take a jump to celebrate your small or big victories ❤️🙏 . Wishing you all strength and love today and always 🙌🏽
